EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Dear Student and Learning Coach,
Hello! We wanted to send a kmail to address various things as we are having a lot of repeated questions on. Please take the time to read this kmail in its entirety. Please notice that if you are an asynchronous student, not all of this will apply to you. This kmail is meant to provide you with and refresh of information that has already been given, as well as to help clarify any confusions or answer any questions you may have.
DAILY SCHEDULE:
Synchronous Students will attend 3 classes a day.
9:05
10:05

-After live sessions students will need a break. THAT’S OKAY, and needed!
-Students can expect 5-6 Hours of work each day.
-Students will then have to complete their Online School Lessons and Lesson Assessments, as assigned by the teacher and also stated on the Subject Calendar.
*Students may also be assigned Study Island be either teacher or exit tickets. If there is not enough time at the end of a live session to complete these, please do them at some point that afternoon.
WEEKLY CALENDAR:
The weekly calendar will be sent to you each week by your subject teacher via kmail. It will also be available on our team website.
***Please follow the weekly calendar. It will tell you what lesson to do what day and what Study Island you will need to do that day.

Online School(OLS) Lessons and Assessments:
-English and History Lessons will be assigned by Mrs. McCarthy
-Math and Science Lesson will be assigned by Mrs. Oakes
***Please follow their subject calendars, lesson assignments and assessments will be assigned at the end of class as well as listed on the calendars.
***Just because something is assigned at the end of class does not mean you need to do it as soon as class ends. You will need to rotate into your next class. When all live sessions are over, please take a break, eat lunch as needed, etc. Then you may complete you OLS Lessons, Study Island, etc.
RESETTING LESSONS:
-The Online School will give you 3 chances to take an assessment. If you do not master it after the first attempt. Please SLOW DOWN and REVIEW! You can do this by working with your Learning Coach, watching the recording, or working through the OLS Lesson again.
-After three not mastered attempts, they teacher will need to reset the assessment. At the time, the teacher also may request a remediation/ help session and may have a conversation with the Learning Coach and Student.
**If you are working ahead, that is okay. But if you are working way ahead and not mastering any assessments, it might be a good idea to wait to take the assessment after we cover that topic in class.
HELP!!!
-If you need help, please ask! We will gladly set up time in the afternoon to work in small groups or one on one with you!
ATTENDANCE:
**Your classes start at 5 minutes after the hour. Please be sure to arrive promptly and stay until the teacher dismisses you.
***If you sign into a session too late/leave too early, the teacher may use their discretion and mark you absent if you have missed the majority of the lesson.
Thank you for taking the time to review this information!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Oakes and Mrs. McCarthy
